About

I have been a creative and maker since probably age 6, if I had to pin point it.  That is when my older sister showed me how to use a needle and thread.  I was the youngest of 6 children to a working single mother.  My two older sisters were my caregivers and they were both creative.  One taught me to sew, the other taught me to draw.   In my childhood if we wanted something we had to make it.  Some would have called it impoverished, but to me is was the foundation to my own creative journey and lead me to becoming a recognized multi-disciplined artist.

I work in a myriad of art disciplines, from paintings, sculpting, fabric, quilting, printmaking and mixed media.  I combine whatever elements are necessary to tell the story I am trying to tell at that time.

Below is a series of collage pieces I created by creating colorful mono printed papers, that I then tore into shapes and moved around until creatures showed up, created a background for them to live in and then added the details.  I get asked often how I achieve such vibrant colors, and honestly, Golden Paints should make me a spokes person – I use their colors more than any other acrylic.
